Petit Pli

Petit Pli is a visionary brand. Inspired by aerospace engineering, their garments continously adapt in size, making them sustainable and ideal for children. The brand specifically works with materials that are ultra-lightweight, reinforced, rainproof and breathable, since we know kids can be very active.

The collaboration came to fruition thanks to an indirect contact between our friends at Y+L Projects, since they recently were in touch with Petit Pli. They kindly offered to send me a sample, since my daughter was at the time of the shooting almost 9 months old. After browsing through their website, reading about their vision and seeing their incredible designs, it was hard for me to say no! I love their mission and the concept behind their products.

In the images below, shot at my residence, my daughter is playing with the hand-made Kokeshi dolls that belonged to her great-grandmother. I wanted to blend the taste of traditional tatami and Japanese culture with the sofisticated materials that Petit Pli works with. It was a pleasure to observe the scene, to see her exploration of the dolls and it’s different shapes and sizes.
